By now if you have logged into a salesforce.com Org with the Summer ’14 release, you have noticed something new, shown below.

It’s certainly debatable as to the wisdom of salesforce using valuable screen space to advertise the mobile app. I am guessing that they have gotten many calls about how to turn this off.

Here is how to do so. Go to Setup/Customize/User Interface, and uncheck “Enable Salesforce Notification Banner.”

Well, at least there is a way to suppress this if you wish to do so.
