Smallbizsalesforce.com has had numerous requests from clients for a texting capability right from salesforce.com. There have been some Apps on the AppExchange, but our review showed them to be buggy and expensive.

We’ve just installed one that we like. It’s called PhoneTools, and we are impressed with it. It creates a “Text” button next to all phone numbers. You register your mobile phone by downloading a free App from either the Google Playstore (for Android) or iTunes (for iPhone). Once your phone is registered, and you install and configure the App in salesforce.com, you are ready to go.

Cost is $1/user/month, so it’s affordable. If texting from salesforce.com is valuable to you, check this one out.
